The Tomb of Tlannatyr

For centuries now the tomb of Tlannatyr—one of the last elw prophets and a legendary hero—has occupied the minds of ruin explorers, historians, and archeologists. The last record of Tlannatyr's resting place remains a rumor that has grown into legend itself following the catastrophe that erased the Heralds from the annals of history and burned the forests of the elw on the southern continent.

Now, the merchant Mons. Laurent Trevall believes that he has found it. The tombs discovery is remarkably close to the central cities of the Guild Marches buried deep in the forest known to the locals as the Northern Wildlands. With the promise of pay and easy work, Trevall has assembled several guilds and sets out to be the first person in millennium to enter the tomb of the fabled elw.

The job sounds easy: protect a pampered merchant on an expedition into a forest. The pay is good for the length of the job. There wasn't any reason to decline it. Except...

Except for the fact that the caravan is going into the Northern Wildlands. A forest that the locals routinely avoid. Stories of evil spirits, stalking nightmares, and other dangers are common. It is said that those who enter the forest often leave only after paying a steep price. But those are just stories, right?
